How Does It Feel to Be in Your Body?

The human body and its entire system of tiny, sophisticated nerves and resilient muscles do not form a mere shell for the mind, but rather offer it a partner that can withstand its broad spectrum.

The Thursday morning Workshop V4: Mindful movement and flow acrobatics, led by Adam Mašura, works with the concept of full awareness and helps us find solid ground underfoot in seemingly subliminal situations. Mindfulness movement allows us to look inside our bodies and find coordination in the chaos, making it easier to handle negative emotions and strengthen the body-spirit connection. This workshop shifts the understanding of the concept of acrobatics, and through various exercises with elements of animal movement, floorwalking, or tendon gymnastics helps us find comfort and rewrite the perception of human boundaries. Over the course of two hours, the group tries out various acrobatic forms of movement to the rhythms of music, which, despite possible initial frustration, encapsulates the multilayered nature of what we are fully capable of as conscious human beings in our.

The body has always been the primary acting tool, and full control and understanding of its system is a major point on the path to establishing our means of expression. When the mind can find support in the coordinated physicality of its shell, its expression can resonate fully in the ether without fear of possible failure.
